The Boeing issue will blow over in time. The hard reality is that the 737 Max 8 has a backlog of orders for 4600 planes over five years. So, if you cancel those orders then it’s easy to just buy other planes? Isn’t it? No way. Airbus which makes the rival A320, has a five- year order book already. So, what choice do the airlines have? None. Eventually, this issue will be sorted, and Boeing will revive its reputation. In the meantime, its stock will remain under a cloud but this may be a buying opportunity in the long term.
The 737 is a big part of the Boeing story though. It will need to get this right.
