Macquarie Authenticator App… Tips to avoid common headaches

If you’re using the Macquarie Authenticator App, here are some helpful tips to keep your account secure and avoid common issues.

 

🔑 Important: Your Macquarie ID & Password

Make sure you have your Macquarie ID and password saved securely — you’ll need both to log in or reset the app.

When first setting up the app, you’ll also create a login PIN. Don’t forget to record that too!

 

📱 Switching to a New Device?

If you’re upgrading your phone, deregister your Macquarie ID from your old device before setting up the app on your new one.

The app can only be used on one device at a time.

How to Deregister Your Macquarie ID:

  1. Open the Macquarie Authenticator app
  2. Tap the Menu (bottom right)
  3. Tap the three dots next to your Macquarie ID
  4. Select Deregister Macquarie ID
  5. Your account will be unlinked from the app

 

🚫 Lost or No Longer Have Your Old Phone?

If you can’t access your old device, call Macquarie Support to have it deregistered:

⚙️ App Not Working?

Try these common fixes:

  1. Update the App
  • Open your app store
  • Search Macquarie Authenticator
  • Tap Update (if available)

 

  1. Check Notifications
  • Ensure notifications are enabled for the app in your device settings

 

Forgot Your Password or PIN?

If you rely on manual entry (not Face ID) and forget your login PIN or password, clicking ‘Forgot Password’ will deregister the app.

You’ll need to set it up again using your Macquarie ID and password.
